About Me

I’m Gloria, a global mental health consultant dedicated to strengthening psychosocial support systems through justice-oriented approaches.

I’m Gloria Pedersen

With over a decade of experience in global mental health, I work globally to design effective, equitable mental health services. My work spans across East Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, where I partner with INGOs, ministries of health, universities, and MHPSS teams to design programs, train providers, and develop tools that improve mental health care delivery.

I hold a DrPH, MSc, and a background in neuroscience and psychobiology. As a co-developer of the EQUIP platform (supported by WHO and UNICEF), I focus on turning evidence into practical, scalable solutions. Currently, I serve as the Director of MHPSS at Partners In Health, driving sustainable mental health system transformation.

My Expertise

My expertise sits at the intersection of global mental health, implementation science, and justice-oriented design. I work with organizations to translate research into programs, training, and tools that are ethical and effective in real-world settings.

I specialize in addressing persistent system challenges, including poorly designed services, ineffective training models, and evidence that fails to inform decision-making. My approach is integrative and transdisciplinary, aligning service users, providers, researchers, and institutions to strengthen mental health systems at scale.
