Hello, I’m

Gloria.

A global mental health practitioner and researcher working at the intersection of evidence, justice, and practice.

The Story

My path to global mental health began long before my doctorate. Growing up, I watched people I love navigate systems that didn’t understand them — and communities that didn’t know how to help. That experience shaped everything about how I work.

I’ve spent 15 years trying to build something different. Not systems designed from a distance, but ones built with the people closest to the problem — service users, community health workers, frontline providers, families.

The Journey

My career began in developmental psychobiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, studying risk-taking behaviors in children and adolescents. From there, I moved into global mental health — MSc at King’s College London and LSHTM, then a DrPH at George Washington University, where I became co-developer of the WHO/UNICEF EQUIP platform. A postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School followed, then my current role as Director of MHPSS at Partners In Health, leading mental health strategy across 10 global programs.
